BMW International Open - Preview

Martin KaymerThe European Tour arrives in Cologne this week for the BMW International Open with local favourite Martin Kaymer expecting a hero's reception (Martin Kaymer 7/1 to win). He comes into his event in decent form with four top 20 finishes in his last four starts, including a tie for 15th at the US Open last week and will be hoping to re-create his victory here in 2008. Sergio Garcia is also high up in the betting and the unpredictable Spaniard is returning after a second place finish here last year. He looks to have the perfect game for the course and given his undoubted talent it would be no surprise to see his name on the winner's trophy at the end of the week (Sergio Garcia 11/1 to win).

Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal comes into this event as the reigning champion after a victory over Sergio Garcia in a playoff last season (Pablo Larrazabal 35/1 to win). Marcel Siem also looks like a good outside shot at the title given his recent form and course form (Marcel Siem 33/1 to win). The German should be quite comfortable in his home country and has had impressive finishes this season on tour, including a fourth place at the Dubai Desert Classic and a seventh at Wentworth. His last two appearances on this course were a 12th placed finish in 2009 and a tie for eighth in 2008. Jeev Milkha-Singh could also be up there come Sunday afternoon with three top 20 finishes on his last three visits to this course. The Indian has been playing some solid stuff in recent week including a seventh placed finish at the Nordea Masters a fortnight ago and he could well be in the mix if he shows a continuation of this form (Jeev-Milkha Singh 55/1 to win)
