Striker Luis Suarez could make a rapid return for Liverpool just days after finishing his London 2012 Olympic duties with Uruguay. Suarez (5/2 first Goal scorer), who has signed a new long-term contract at Anfield, may figure in the Europa League third qualifying round second-leg tie with Gomel this evening.
Keeper Jose Reina (13/8 both teams to score) may also feature after missing the first leg following a delayed return for pre-season training. Suarez played for Uruguay as recently as the 1st August, the former Ajax striker featuring for his country in a 1-0 defeat to Great Britain in Cardiff.
His Anfield team-mate Lucas Leiva admits it will be "a special moment" should he be included against Gomel, Brendan Rodgers' (20/1 Next Premier League Manager to leave His Post) first competitive game in charge at home. The Brazilian midfielder saw his season cut-short when he suffered a serious knee injury last November in the League Cup win over Chelsea.
The 2011 Liverpool (2/1 Top 4 Finish) fans Player of the year said "I think it will be a special moment for me when I go to warm up at Anfield or if I come on because I have been out a long time and watching from the stands. It will be a special day for me and I hope it will be another step for me. I'm looking forward to meeting the fans again and playing at Anfield. It's where I really feel strong and comfortable and where I had very good performances before the injury."
