Premier League Betting Preview - West Ham United

Social Sharing:

Sam AllardyceThe Hammers' make a return to the Premier League this season after earning the final promotion spot in the Championship. As a result, the East Londoners will need to be watched closely in football betting as they strive to make a name for themselves back in the top flight and avoid going straight back down.

West Ham have made a significant amount of transfers into the club this summer, only so far losing two players in the process. Robert Green has left the club on a free transfer to QPR, whereas Ravel Morrison has joined Championship side Birmingham on loan. Manager Sam Allardyce has moved to bring players to the Boleyn Ground in a bid to bolster the squad for the new season, those that have joined are James Collins from Aston Villa, Modibo Maiga from French Ligue 1 outfit Sochaux, Mohamed Diame from Wigan, Jussi Jaaskelainen from Bolton, Raphael Spiegel from Grasshopper, Stephen Henderson from Portsmouth and George McCartney from Sunderland.

Last season West Ham managed to record more away victories than any team in the club's history, quite an achievement for manager Allardyce who has made some serious changes since taking the Hammers' over, this makes them worth betting on when they're on the road.

Unfortunately, for a team that will need to rely on its defensive form this season, they have limited options on the back line and are set to concede a fair amount of goals. Although they have brought in a decent calibre of players so far, the squad still falls short of some reliable options.

However, during their successful mission for promotion the team showed they can play with a cohesive plan and for that reason they could cause some upsets to the more established of Premier League teams. They will be well worth a watch and could make football betting during the new season very interesting.
