Manchester United are believed to be back in the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid Lucas Moura, despite rumours last week that the Reds' interest had waned in the face of the demands of the player's club.
Moura is currently on Olympic duty with Brazil and insists his focus is on the task in hand, although the two clubs are believed to be in negotiations already. United (9/4 To Win The Premier League) have been pursuing the 19-year-old all summer, having had one bid rejected last month before returning with another, believed to have been accepted, this week. Ferguson is aiming to move fast to quell interest in the player from the likes of Inter Milan, PSG and Real Madrid (8/11 To Win La Liga) , all of whom are believed to be keen on the youngster.
Ferguson himself remained in the UK as his side (9/10 To Beat Everton On The Opening Day) travelled to Norway to face Valerenga, due largely to his commitment to this deal. He is no stranger to signing Brazilian youngsters, with Kleberson and Anderson crossing the Atlantic in the past with varying success, but Moura is considered one of the brightest prospects in world football and his signing would be something of a coup given the interest in him from some of Europe's footballing giants.
