It’s been a great week for us all here at @sevenbarrows and it got off to a great start at Kempton on Monday with ALTIOR who made a winning debut over fences. Obviously, it wasn’t ideal with just one other runner, but it was expected – we scared the rest away! But I loved the way he jumped and managed to put himself right when making a small mistake down the far side.

StanJames' Premier League Predictor Competition | Week 13

Triskaidekaphobia, or fear of the number 13... it's unlucky for some, apparently, but surely not us, especially after our sterling show last week! Anyhow's, that's enough of our being highbrow, it's time to get back to the science of winning!

Following a couple of great evenings of Champions League games, goals, glory and glorious failure in the case of Tottenham Hotspur, we're onto the Europa League - the bridesmaid to the bride, that box of Quality Street after the big Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. It's not quite like eating from the top table at a gala dinner, but you're not heading to McDonalds for tea, either.

Following last night's goal-fest in the Champions League, we can't wait for tonight's action. More goals, more eliminations, more progressions, just more of everything, really.

Matchday five kicks off on Tuesday night, which means squeaky bums all round for a host of teams. The competitions really starts to heat up now and we cannot wait. We'll now look at four of what - on paper, at least - look the best, and most intriguine matches of the evening, starting with a trip to that horrible place, that dump, that squalor that is Monaco, of course.
