I'm not a clone - Villas-Boas
New Chelsea (5/2 Premier League outright) boss Andre Villas-Boas has insisted he is not a new version of former Blues boss and mentor Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager signed for Chelsea (8/1 Champions League outright) on Wednesday after winning the domestic league and cup double as well as the Europa League with Porto. This success has created inevitable comparisons with Mourinho, who also moved to Stamford Bridge after enjoying European success with Porto.
The 33-year-old was previously part of Mourinho's coaching set-up in west London as well as at Inter Milan, acting as chief scout before taking up the manager's job at Academica de Coimbra. Like Mourinho, the Porto-born boss has had success wherever he's been and was reportedly at the top of a number of club's lists to be their next manager.
However, the new Blues boss has been quick to quash people's opinions that he is just a new version of Mourinho.
"I am linked with Jose because we worked together, but I don't go out of my way to talk about it," he told The Sunday Mirror. "We are different people, have different personalities and different views on the game.
"I respect Jose, but I'm not a clone. I work of my own accord. I don't want to work with restraints or worry what Jose thinks."
