Clarke hails rejuvenated Johnson

Liverpool coach Steve Clarke says Glen Johnson has been "re-energised" by switching from right-back to left-back this season and believes he can continue to improve for the Reds and England (Liverpool 6/1 - Top 4 Finish).
Johnson is set to play in a more familiar right-sided defensive role for England in Denmark on Wednesday (Denmark (9/4, England 13/10, the draw 9/4), but it is his recent fine form on the opposite flank which has taken many people by surprise.
The former Portsmouth and Chelsea man has been used on the left since Kenny Dalglish was installed Liverpool caretaker manager and the positional change has coincided with the full-back rediscovering his best form after a disappointing start to the season under former boss Roy Hodgson.
Clarke, who worked with Johnson when they were both at Stamford Bridge, has paid tribute to the defender for his recent resurgence.
"You don't become an international regular for England if you are not a good player," he said.
"I worked with Glen at Chelsea and he is always a pleasure to work with. I think he has been re-energised with the change and he has switched to the left and proved he can play just as well there as he can on the right.
"It's always good to have adaptable players and when you have people like that who do well for you every week no matter what position they are in then it's a great position for the manager and the coaching staff."
