Carvalho talks up Mourinho

Jose Mourinho

Real Madrid new boy Ricardo Carvalho has told the Spanish giants they have appointed "the best coach in the world" in Jose Mourinho (Real 6/5 - La Liga Outright).

The Portuguese is looking for his first La Liga win this weekend - against Osasuna - after drawing a blank at Real Mallorca on the opening weekend of the season (Real 2/13, draw 6/1, Osasuna 16/1).

But his countryman Carvalho, who has also played under Mourinho at Porto and Chelsea, is in no doubt over the quality Mourinho will bring to arguably the hottest seat in world football.

The defender told AS: "I have known Jose Mourinho for many years now which has become very helpful for me because I know perfectly well the way he works.

"He is the best coach in the world, he is a coach who knows exactly what has to be done."

Carvalho added: "When we played against Mallorca we had many opportunities to score, but we didn't.

"We are going to give our best performance to win against Osasuna on Saturday in order to achieve our first victory in the season."

Stan James makes Barcelona the 4/6 favourites to win La Liga again this season following their opening win at Racing Santander.
