Premier League Darts Week 14 - Part One

Social Sharing:

Adrian LewisA huge night of darts awaits in the Premier League this Thursday with five players vying for the two remaining playoff spots. Phil Taylor has been in sensational form throughout this tournament, averaging 108.14 and winning 11 of his 13 matches so far (Phil Taylor 4/9 to win the Premier League 2012). Whilst Simon Whitlock is also guaranteed his place alongside him in the semi’s. The other two spots are between World Champion Adrian Lewis, James Wade, Raymond Van Barneveld, Kevin Painter and Andy Hamilton, with Gary Anderson guaranteed to miss out on nine points.

Adrian Lewis v Simon Whitlock

The first match of the evening is Adrian Lewis up against the already qualified Australian Simon Whitlock (Adrian Lewis 11/10 to beat Simon Whitlock). Lewis lost 8-4 in his previous meeting against Whitlock, however he knows a victory this evening will guarantee his place in the semi-finals with James Wade and Van Barneveld up against each other. Lewis was unbeaten in three outings until a defeat at the hands of Kevin Painter last week and Whitlock will be no pushover averaging 96.32 for the Premier League so far (Simon Whitlock 5/4 to beat Adrian Lewis).

Andy Hamilton v Kevin Painter

The second match of the night is the Premier League’s two newcomers this season who have proved to be more than a match for their more experienced competitors. Andy Hamilton is currently level on 11 points with his opponent this evening and both player’s can still qualify for the semi’s with a victory tonight if other results go their way. Both will be desperate for a semi-final berth to encourage the sponsors to pick them for the Premier League again next year so expect a nervous encounter (Andy Hamilton 6/5 to beat Kevin Painter). They are both on good runs of late with Hamilton unbeaten in the last four weeks and Painter undefeated in his last three outings (Kevin Painter 6/5 to beat Andy Hamilton) but something will have to give tonight.
