Pakistan vs England Third Test - Stumps Day Three
The third Test between England and Pakistan has been full of remarkable twists and turns and as day three drew to a close England (15/8 to win the third Test) were left with an almighty, but not impossible, task to win the game and restore their dented pride after two humbling defeats in the first two Tests. Monty Panesar was the hero on day three taking four wickets in the afternoon session as Pakistan collapsed from 331 for 4 to 365 all out.
Pakistan (2/5 to win the third Test) started the day on 222 for 2 with Azhar Ali and Younis Khan looking comfortable at the crease. Khan was out lbw to broad in the tenth over of the day but Azhar Ali kept steadily adding runs with some support from Misbah-ul-Haq. Misbah fell in the 130th over of the innings and was Panesar's first victim of the day, falling lbw just after drinks in the afternoon session. Panesar then removed Asad Shafiq and Adnan Akmal after scant resistance to give England a foothold in the match.

Graeme Swann would not be kept out of the wickets as he took the scalps of Abdur Rehman and Saeed Ajmal in successive overs with some help from James Anderson who took both catches at slip. Azhar Ali finally headed back to the pavilion after being caught at short leg by Cook off Swann's bowling. By that point Ali had reached 157 off an almighty 442 balls in what was a intensely disciplined innings in difficult conditions.
Pakistan were all out for 365 when Umar Gul became Panesar's fifth and final wicket which left Alistair Cook and Andrew Strauss a tricky 20 overs to negotiate at the end of the day. Saeed Ajmal (6/4 to take the most wickets in the 2nd inns) had the ball turning and beat the bat on a few occasions to worry the England openers and Alistair Cook was lucky to stay at the crease after Taufeeq dropped a simple catch at third slip.
England finished the day on 36 for 0 and require a further 288 runs to win this Test. There's plenty of time so England can afford to be extremely cautious and they'll have to be after the batting calamities we have seen in this series so far.
