Audley feels Price is right

Audley HarrisonOlympic Gold medallist Audley Harrison has been handed a shot at upcoming British heavyweight and 2008 bronze medal winner David Price. The fight will take place at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on October 13th.

The bout is something of a shock given Harrison’s increasingly poor record. He has only fought once since his crushing third-round defeat to David Haye (5/2 To Beat Vitali Klitschko in 2012) in 2010, a win over little-known Ali Adams coming via fourth-round stoppage. Price (2/15 To Beat Audley Harrison) however speaks highly of his opponent, and whilst confident of beating him, was respectful, saying: “Audley was an inspiration to me when I was younger, someone our amateur squad always looked up to. He called me before Beijing to offer advice, which I’m grateful for, but he’s still getting flattened.”

Harrison (9/2 To Beat David Price) meanwhile knows that this fight signals a crossroads in his career, and a win is paramount if he is ever to get another shot at a world title. He admitted he has at times been unpredictable and poor performances have hurt his reputation, but he believes he is capable of pulling off a shock: “Whatever way you look at it, it's a crossroads fight between two Olympic medal winners. It's uncertain which direction I'm headed in while David is on the way up. My career has had tremendous highs and incredible lows. I've ridden the ship as best I can. On a few occasions I haven't shown up which has really hurt my reputation, but I will show up in Liverpool.”
