StanJames' Premier League Predictor Competition | Week 13

Triskaidekaphobia, or fear of the number 13... it's unlucky for some, apparently, but surely not us, especially after our sterling show last week! Anyhow's, that's enough of our being highbrow, it's time to get back to the science of winning!

Following a couple of great evenings of Champions League games, goals, glory and glorious failure in the case of Tottenham Hotspur, we're onto the Europa League - the bridesmaid to the bride, that box of Quality Street after the big Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. It's not quite like eating from the top table at a gala dinner, but you're not heading to McDonalds for tea, either.

Following last night's goal-fest in the Champions League, we can't wait for tonight's action. More goals, more eliminations, more progressions, just more of everything, really.

Matchday five kicks off on Tuesday night, which means squeaky bums all round for a host of teams. The competitions really starts to heat up now and we cannot wait. We'll now look at four of what - on paper, at least - look the best, and most intriguine matches of the evening, starting with a trip to that horrible place, that dump, that squalor that is Monaco, of course.

Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid, Manchester United vs. Arsenal, AC Milan vs. Internazionale, Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich. Do you get the feeling it's not going to be one of those quiet weekends, picnics in the park, pub lunches and all that?

Nicky Henderson | Beware the Bear unleashed at Ascot!

It goes without saying the last week has probably been one of the worst in quite some time; firstly having to retire dear old Sprinter Sacre and then the devastation that saw Simonsig lose his life doing what he enjoyed so much. Days like that are thankfully few and far between and I hope we never have to endure one like it again. It was quite emotional I can tell you.

*Sigh* "Not the Championship!" we hear you cry, but for us, it's one of the best divisions in the world when you look at the size of the clubs in the league and the high profile managers - Rafa Benitez at Newcastle, Reading have Jaap Stam, Mick McCarthy's been a character over the years, and let's not forget, England legend Steve McClaren is back at Derby County. "It's a cracking league!" as Cardiff boss Neil Warnock would say.

It's the weekend, which can only mean one thing - the return of the Premier League and the Premier League Predictor Competition. Have fun, beat your mates, beat us even, and win free bets and prizes!
