Potter highlights St Helens desires

Mick Potter believes the desire of Sean Long and Lee Gilmour to sign off in fine style could help propel St Helens (1/2 for victory with Stan James' Rugby League match bets) to the Grand Final.
The St Helens (11/5 for Super League title) coach has the luxury of a full squad from which to choose from ahead of the play-off semi-final, with Keiron Cunningham, Matt Gidley and Tony Puletua all available for the game.
Local Super League rivals St Helens and Wigan (13/8 for victory) were paired together in the semi-finals after Leeds Rhinos picked the Catalans Dragons to be their opponents in the other last-four tie.
The visitors will have an uphill task ahead of them having lost in their last eight trips to the Saints.
St Helens legend Long (18/1 first try scorer) will be making his final home appearance, with the scrum-half due to end his links with the club and join Hull for the next Super League season.
Gilmour (16/1 first try) is also following Long out of the GPW Recruitment Stadium door after signing for Huddersfield.
Potter believes these two will be striving to put on a performance in front of the St Helens crowd for one last time and propel their team into the Grand Final.
He said: "Longy will want to try and get to the grand final and win another grand final."
"It's the same for Lee Gilmour as well and I'm sure they'll be doing everything possible to secure the win," added Potter.
Long revealed earlier this week that Wigan Warriors (13/2 for Super League title) had attempted to sign him for next season, but he turned down their approach due to the uncertainty over the future of coach Brian Noble.
