Berbatov looks for bite of Maltese soft centre

Dimitar Berbatov has told Bulgaria he is over his knee injury and wants to play in Wednesday's friendly against Malta (Malta 7/1, draw 10/3, Bulgaria 1/3 match bets) - and could make his Premier League return for Manchester United against Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The transfer deadline day signing has been sidelined by a knee injury piked up in the 2-0 win against Blackburn at Old Trafford at the end of October.
The former Tottenham favourite missed the 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow in the Champions League and also had to watch from the stands when champions United were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before the international break.
The 29-year-old will be needed (Man United 10/3 Premier League outright prices) alongside Wayne Rooney if United are to reduce a potential eight-point gap - if Chelsea beat Wolves earlier in the day - against David Moyes' men at Old Trafford.
"I received a kick in my knee during the Blackburn match and I needed some rest and some treatment, but I'm okay now and I'll play in Malta," Berbatov said.
